il dolce far niente
the sweetness of doing nothing
vivere una vita piena --to live a full life
lasciarsi vivere -- to let oneself live, to take things as they come
sapere vivere -- to know how to live, to know how to get along with people
Il tempo non aspetta nessuno. Raccogli ogni momento che ti rimane, perché ha un grande valore.
Time waits for no one. Grasp every minute that remains because it has great value.

trust your heart if the seas catch fire
dive for dreams
or a slogan may topple you
(trees are their roots
and wind is wind)
trust your heart
if the seas catch fire
(and live by love
though the stars walk backward)
honour the past
but welcome the future
(and dance your death
away at the wedding)
never mind a world
with its villains or heroes
(for good likes girls
and tomorrow and the earth)
in spite of everything
which breathes and moves, since Doom
(with white longest hands
neating each crease)
will smooth entirely our minds
-before leaving my room
i turn, and (stooping
through the morning) kiss
this pillow, dear
where our heads lived and were
e.e.cummings

Love from Dr. Seuss
“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”
~ Dr Seuss (1904-1991), American writer & cartoonist [Theodor Seuss Geiseler],
As quoted in "Somewhere in the Middle of Love" (2007) by Lisa A. Lipscomb, p. 31

Gazing into an abyss.
"And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."
"Und wenn du lange in einen Abgrund blickst, blickt der Abgrund auch in dich hinein."
Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche, German philosopher (1844 - 1900)
Section 146 of Nietzsche's "Beyond Good and Evil," in the section entitled "Epigrams and Interludes".
The second half of the quote is an extension of the first, warning that when you seek to understand the "abyss," or the darker elements of life or truth, the abyss enters you as well.
The lover of knowledge cannot remain merely an observer. In observing the abyss, or "dangerous truths," you cannot avoid the consequences of this newfound knowledge.

less and less to say
"As my prayers became more attentive and inward I had less and less to say.
I finally became completely silent.
I started to listen - which is even further removed from speaking.
I first thought that prayer entailed speaking. I then learnt that prayer is hearing, not merely being silent.
That is how it is.
To pray does not mean to listen to oneself speaking. Prayer involves becoming silent, and being silent, and waiting until God is heard."
Soren Kierkegaard

Thank you for visiting my weblog and joining me as I examine and explore things I am passionate about and what is beyond the realms of what I don’t yet know.
My thoughts and opinions evolve, because I like to keep an open mind as I gain new knowledge. Please note that I do not always agree with and take no responsibility for the opinions or statements found on other sites when you follow links elsewhere. Many techniques and ideas I talk about are a complementary alternative for self-healing, self-help, and behavioral modification and are not meant as a substitute for standard medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment. Please consult with any professional of your choice. Any action you may choose to take in following any information or suggestions are completely of your own choice for which you take complete responsibility. Please use your own judgment of what is right for you.
I hope you benefit from the information shared here. If this is different from what you have been taught, I am sorry. Please enjoy what is of interest to you and leave the rest.
May you get the most beneficial outcome possible for each experience in your life.
